Havelock Eco Holidays to promote eco tourism

The newly formed ‘Havelock Eco Holidays and Travels’, the travel arm of Havelock Group of Companies has undertaken to manage and market several Eco Holiday ventures in Sri Lanka. Eco Village Dodanduwa is the newest resort to come under ‘Havelock Eco Holidays and Travels’. Bordering the Dodanduwa Lagoon. The management intends to conduct water sports activities, such as Canoeing, Flat water Kayaking, Floating Deck Camping and Floating Deck Dining and River Fishing etc.

They are currently involved with Ceylon Adventure Camping site at Kitulgala, Madawala Eco Bungalow at Laxapana, Boulder Range Resorts at Dambulla (an archeological rock fence of 2 century Anuradhapura Empire), Jeew’s Hide-Out at Habarana, Kalu’s Hideaway in Udawalawe and Centuria Hotel in Embilipitiya.

Veteran hotelier Ranjith Balasuriya, who has joined the company as CEO of ‘Havelock Eco Holidays and Travels’ said his top priority to promote eco tourism in Sri Lanka.

‘We are looking at the possibilities and we do have an intention to open up a Hotel School including an Information Technology Centre to cope up the demand to the public’ said Gamini Wijeyabandara, the Chairman of the Havelock Group Companies

Nishan A. Atulugamage, an Eco Adventure expertise in the industry for nearly 11 years has joined as a Manager of ‘Havelock Eco Holidays and Travels’.
