Sri Lankan Guides in Muscat shake hands with the King of Sweden

Over 20 years ago, with the opening of the first registered Little Friends Pack and Guide Company at the Sri Lanka School Muscat (SLSM), Sri Lanka Girl Guides sailed beyond our shires to join hands with our sister Guides living in Muscat.

Headed by Mrs. Latha Somathilake, the Sri Lankan Guide Commissioner to the Sultanate of Oman, the SLSM Girl Guides have excelled and won many awards in Guiding.

The SLSM Girl Guides met with the King of Sweden, HM Carl Gustaf XVI in Muscat. On this memorable occasion, the Girl Guides engaged in lively conversation with His Majesty, exhibited a vivid display of their handicraft and danced to the traditional rhythms of Sri Lanka.
