Wesley College presents FUSION 2010 - "Magic at the Movies" on Oct.16

Wesley College presents 'FUSION 2010', its annual musical extravaganza at 6.30 pm on Saturday October 16 at the Bishop's College Auditorium. The theme this year is "Magic at the Movies" and spans the glorious range of music of the movies from Sri Lanka … to Kollywood …. and Bollywood …. to Hollywood. The Chief Guest will be the celebrated film director and former Sri Lankan Ambassador to France Mrs. Sumitra Peries.

Directed by Rushan Hewawasam, "Magic at the Movies" showcases the musical talents of Wesley's past and present boys. Nearly 600 performers on stage will take the audience through English, Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi songs …. recapturing the glamour, glitz and memorable moments at the movies.

The show features music from "We Will Rock You", "Circle of Life", "La Bamba", "Step Up", "Mission Impossible", "Silambatta", "High School Musical", "A Few Dollars More", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Sound of Music", "My Fair Lady", the Hindi movie "Taarei Zameen Par", and Sri Lanka's very own " Ganga Addara", "Hula Waali", "Gehenu Lamai", "Yahaluwo" and many more.

"FUSION 2010 is now into its second year and is one of those events which unifies Wesleyites both young and old in a wonderful and infectious spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood. The boys are very enthusiastic and the morale is high. All this undoubtedly points to a great magical show, as its name suggests," Hewawasam said.

Electronic sponsors of the event are Prime TV and Prime Radio. "Magic at the Movies" will be hosted by two Old Boys of Wesley College - Prashan de Visser of MTV fame and Kumar de Silva ("Bonsoir") of Prime TV's "Celebrity Chat" fame.
