Amorous happenings

What and what happenings in cricket! It is speculated that stern action will be taken on two cricketers who took part in a contest in the West Indies recently. These two lovers were caught in certain poses which would have made others blush. Now the peope at the top are planning a massive probe and all are agog to hear the outcome of it.

Where does the money for the pacies go?
There is a pool for spinners and pace bowlers that practice regularly but the saying goes that the coaches for the spinners get their dues in time but not so for the coach who handles the pacies. The head coach maintains a fine jeep with all the trappings and it is said that the money that is not paid to the pacies is being utilized by this man to maintain his chariot.

Media manager not spared
There is a complete mix-up where accommodation was concerned for the Sri Lanka team at the Galle Test. The local cricketers had to travel about 42 km to come to the Galle Stadium and so was it with the press who had to be shifted from pillar to post. A certain media manager too was not spared as he had to stay in three hotels during the game!

Key hotel figure in a different role
A manager of a hotel in distant Dambulla was seen at the Galle Test sporting a manager’s identity. The talk is that this man was featured as a key figure at the game because of his connections in the hotel trade.

Dummies at the top
There is talk that local tournaments are not well conducted. This came to light when two managers came in for a severe tongue lashing because of their attitude towards the game. Some of them even berated the managers saying that they can find two better people in the villages to manage things than the two who are in command. They were compared to two dummies who are running the show.

Favouring his own kind
Race and creed seems to pay a major role in umpiring. A certain leader in this vocation seems to be favouring his own creed. This was brought to the notice of the top people who did not pay much attention to this sort of talk. It looks as if the people who have complained about this have fallen into the fire whilst trying to save the situation.

Probe on security at Galle Test
The newly appointed plantation guy to the TOC wanted to check out the numbers of the private security personnel manned in Galle for the Test match against India as the security personnel were each paid Rs. 1.800 per day. The TOC member wanted to make a physical check on the points where these 130 security personnel were manned. However, to his great disappointment instead of providing the TOC man with the list of points, the security man had turned very abusive and only in the aftermath that they are looking for the points that the 130 security personnel were manned.

However the most amusing part came when more than one intruder entered the playing area and went and hugged the players posing great danger to the players upon Murali’s 800th wicket. Thereafter there was more security than needed. But, what is the use of bolting the stable once the horse has run away.
May be an inquiry into this huge lapse of security would be welcome!!!

The file Rat
The file Rat is the Citadel horse man’s favourite person. The other employees at the Citadel fondly call him “Kelama.” They say he keeps walking round the house gathering pieces of news to carry the tale to the horse man. One amused employee mused, “We get our increments once a year, but it looks like “Kelama” gets one every other month”.
