Cabinet circus: Who will benefit?

I don't know why the govt. has decided to have cabinet meetings all over the country. Didn't anyone think that how much public funds would be wasted in holding such meetings? For what purpose or who will benefit from these tamashas?

Ministers will travel all over the country to sit for cabinet meetings. This is fine for them as they can claim for travelling and subsistence. There are about 40 cabinet ministers in the government, almost all will have to travel a long distance every week or every fortnight spending large amounts for fuel.

These ministers do not go alone, they are accompanied by their personal bodyguards along with back-up vehicles. In addition area police stations will be alerted and police personnel or armed forces will be deployed while meals will be arranged in luxury hotels for ministers and their staff. Nobody will be benefit from this false show except the politicos who will get an opportunity at the expense of the public to boost their images or egos.

The Budget presented in Parliament for 2010 indicates the government’s financial state. Even in such a situation it is amazing that the govt. is resorting to such extravaganzas. Instead of wasting money on cabinet meetings all over the country the government must think of ways to reduce the cost of living to help the masses.
