'Kumara's Friends' is the second book written for
children by Mrs. Lalitha Somathilaka. Following in the footsteps of her first book for children titled, 'Sudu Puncha and Sookiri Puncha' ,
Mrs. Somathilaka once again attempts to make children more aware of the environment around them and the wonders of nature.
The story's setting is a farm, and takes the reader through the daily adventures of Kumara and his friends who work and play there. The illustrations by Niroshan Karunathilaka bring colour and life to the
characters. The book is in
simple language to encourage young readers.
Mrs. Somathilaka is also in the process of publishing the second book in the
Sudu Puncha and Sookiri Puncha series and a collection of stories for children is also in the works.
