With extension, IGP goes to the people

Police Chief Mahinda Balasuriya's term of office has been extended by one year. He was appointed on November 3 last year for six months. He will be 57 on June 18 when the extension will take effect.

With a new term now assured, Mr. Balasuriya began a new concept yesterday. He launched the first Police mobile service at Moratuwa.

The service where the people can meet the Police Chief to tell him about their grievances will be held in several other provincial towns.
