Createract - The festival celebrating creative talent, organized by the Rotaract Club of Colombo, for the 15th successive year, will bring together Interactors and Rotaractors, giving them the opportunity to display their talents to prominent personalities in the related industry. Last year, ‘Createract’ recorded the highest participation so far, with over 300 participants in total.

This festival hosting various events ranging from Create-an- answer; an-ad; an-act; a-sketch; a-song; a-tale; a-story; a-dance and many more, gives a choice of opportunities for interactors and Rotaractors to showcase their talents. With celebrated personalities as judges, some of the recent being Bathiya and Santhush, Ashanthi, Indu Dharmasena, Mohammed Adamally, Shohan Chandiram and Natasha, the opportunities for our youth are limitless.

‘Createract 2010’ will be held on April 10, at the Sasakawa Hall in Colombo. This year Keells Food Products PLC, has come forward as the exclusive sponsor for the event.

Chartered in 1969, the Rotaract Club of Colombo is the first Rotaract Club to be established in Sri Lanka and has a history of appreciated community service and professional development spanning 40 years.
Rotaract is a movement founded worldwide for young men and women aged between 18 to 30 years who believe they can make a difference by serving their communities.

Rotaract clubs are usually community or university-based and sponsored by a local Rotary club, making them true ‘partners in service’ and key members of the Rotary family. The Rotaract movement encompasses all facets of life with 4 main avenues of service; namely, Community Service, Professional Development, International Understanding and Club Service.

Through the Rotaract programme, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, but also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 8,000 Rotaract clubs in 163 countries and geographic areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.
