‘Doratu Rakinno’, a teledrama based on a script written by veteran script writer and artiste Daya Rajapaksa and directed by Piyal Yatawara is now being telecast at 8.30 pm on every Thursday on Rupavahini channel.

Produced by Veenitha Chandrasekara for 2R Creations, it revolves around a moving tale of an unmarried security officer who experiences the beauty of love in his middle age.

‘Doratu Rakinno’ also has a galaxy of stars cast together with veterans like Irangani Serasinghe and Jayalath Manoratne. The others in the cast are Roger Seneviratne, Nayana Kumari, Geetha Kanthi Jayakody Dayadewa Edirisinghe, Lal Kularatne, Premadasa Vithanage, Hansamala Janaki, K. A. Milton Perera, Nilanthi Wijesinghe, Surangi Ruwanmalee and Malkanthi Jayasinghe.

Vas, a middle aged unmarried security officer lives with his mother. Madonna works at a plastic production company and to send her lover, Bhumidasa for foreign employment she pawns her jewellery. But since Bhumidasa left the country there is hardly any news about him and Madonna is worried about her jewellery.

In order to prevent her jewellery being forfeited, Madonna gets closer to Vas who in turn misunderstands this to be genuine love. He goes to the extent of mortgaging his own house under the guise of his mother and gives money to Madonna.

Vas’ love is not responded to positively by Madonna neither is his money returned. Now he faces the problem of his house getting forfeited.

With unrequited love and on the verge of losing the roof, what will be the future of Vas? What has happened to Bhumidasa and how is Madonna going to recover her loss? Awaits the final episode of the 31-part teledrama.

Thisara Thulwan handled the camera and Priyantha Guruge edited and Anura Wijesinghe assisted in the direction of ‘Doratu Rakinno’.
