‘Kanyawi’ continues

Filmmaker B. Sirithunga Perera’s maiden direction ‘Kanyawi’ continues for 60 days at Ritz Borella and other NFC circuit cinema halls around the country.

A debut production of Indika Wijeratne for Cine Vision Lanka Films, it reveals all about a happy family which faces many a struggle due to the influences of outsiders.

Director of teledramas ‘Gimhana Sihina’, ‘Gawwen Gawwa’ and his latest ‘Handapana’ based on W. A. Silva’s novel, Sirithunga Perera’s film revolves around a well-to-do and educated man who entangles in an illicit affair with a girl whom he tries to help. This seriously affects his family life with a devoted and beautiful wife.

The film stars Sanath Gunathilaka, Meena Kumari, Pubudu Chathuranga, Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Himali Sayurangi, Susila Kottage, Somaweera Gamage, Seetha Kumari, Hyacinth Wijeratne, Dilani Madurasinghe, Upali Keerthisena, Kapila Sigera and child artiste Samadhi Sandaruwani in the main roles.

The film is the last musical direction of late maestro Premasiri Khemadasa. K.D. Dayananda has handled the camera, Derrick Fernando the make up, Kamal Thilakartane the art direction, Stanley de Silva the art direction while Dr. Ajantha Ranasinghe and Upul Shantha Sannasgala have penned the lyrics.

Amarasiri Peiris, Kasun Kalhara and Indika Upamali are the playback singers.
