Colombo Fashion Week: Bigger and better

It’s that time when the fashionistas hit town and why not? With three nights of dazzling designs on the catwalk, the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week to be held at the Colombo Hilton on February 5, 6 and 7 is bigger and better this year.

Unveiling their latest collections will be a line-up with an international flavour from Indian designers Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani and Sanchita Ajjampur, to Alecca Carrano from Italy, Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci from the UK, along with 17 collections of local designers including Kanchana Thalpawila (KT Brown), Yolanda Aluvihare, Darshi Keerthisena (Buddhi Batiks) LICC Jeans, Stringhopper and Arugam Bay Beachwear and Fahad ( Middle Finger). Five new designers also have their chance to grab the headlines.

Tie-ups with Russian Fashion Week, Miami International Fashion Week and Malaysian Fashion Week have raised the profile of the event which is also being backed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau looking to showcase the country as a travel destination.
