To reconstruct faith and reconstruct St. Sebastian’s Church-Kondavil Parish Jaffna, one of the most unique shows in Colombo with a mixture of talent, colour, vitality and genre will take centre stage at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton Colombo at 6.30 pm today, November 15.

Guest performances by Ashanthi, Prihan, Mariazelle, Deanna School of dancing, El Latino dance club and much more with an evening of hip-hop, salsa, music, six teenage gals and two teenage guys take the ramp to showcase the latest trends, to give fashion with a difference.

St’ Sebastian Church was built in 1913 by a small group of devoted Catholics living in the vicinity at the time. Initially it was a stone built church with a tin roof. During the civil war, people took refuge in it. Later, it fell into disrepair and neglect. The unruly people in the locality removed the roof, and the building went through severe damage.

The present parishioners being farmers and daily wage earners. It now stands, merely- a hut!
“Our purpose is to make this change. This ‘change’ is to bring back hope and love to a community that has been tortured with fear, loss, anger, helplessness, war! To bring back their rightful place of worship,” the organizers said.
