Funday Times - A Poem for the week

My talking doll
By Shenali Liyanage (9 years), Musaeus College

It came from beautiful Russia,
From the biggest country in the world.
My pen-friend's teacher sent it to me,
In a big parcel by airmail.

I call it 'Niminoshka',
It's very special because of its sweet voice.
It says, "you can change my dress, take care of me."
Of course, I will always do!

It has golden plaited hair,
And a lovely smiling face.
Her dress is pink in colour,
She wears a blue coat, stockings and boots too.

I don't have to worry about ghosts any more,
Because 'Niminoshka' is with me.
I cuddle her while I am asleep,
Thank you teacher Anastasia, for sending this for me.
