Last Sunday we went to the beach. It was the Mount Lavinia beach.
I went there with my father, mother and my younger brothers
We had a sea bath.
I made a big sandcastle.
I fixed a flag on top of the castle. We dug a sand tunnel and water came into it.
Suddenly a small crab crawled into the tunnel. We got scared.
I saw many ships and some fishing boats. We collected a variety of seashells to take back with us. In the evening we got back after a lovely day by the sea. I will never forget that day.

Buying something with my own money - 9 – 11 years
My mother's birthday was on the 8th of August.
I liked to give her a
present and was thinking what I could buy. She broke her tea mug just two days before her
birthday.
So I thought a tea mug would be an ideal present for her.
Suddenly I
remembered the coins I had put in my till from time to time. I opened the till and counted the money. There were thirty, five rupee coins. So I went with my grandmother to a shop and bought a
beautiful mug. With the balance I bought some handkerchiefs for her.
How happy she was when I gave it to her on her birthday. I was also very proud that I was able to buy something for my mother with my own money that I had collected.

My plans for the school holidays - 12 –14 years
I wish to have lots of fun in my holidays. First thing I'm going to do is to ride my bike till it reaches night.
I hope to go to Kekirawa to see my grandfather.
He makes me different toys. Last holiday I got an
awesome sword made out of wood. I wonder what I will get this holiday. We are also having an almsgiving at Kekirawa.
We are going to Habarana with my friends Dinali, Udani and Imali to stay in a hotel called Asnara. It's a really nice place. It has neat rooms and a giant
swimming pool. We hope to have a barbecue there. We are going to sing songs and have lots of fun.
Going to Colombo is what we're going to do next. We are going to see my uncle and his family.
Well, I'm also going to study in my free time,
especially the Japanese language. I hope and I want, to make this holiday special.
