Don’t miss grand show tonight

It's tonight - In a single night, together on one stage, the very best of the local western music industry will gather to perform the music of the Legends.

A pre-concert private performance of the show, brought with it rave reviews from the invitees- only audience. Now Legends comes together for a "one night only" performance at the Grand Ballroom of Waters Edge tonight, appropriately enough presented by the Legends waveband of Yes FM. The show is produced by Imran of Funtime, himself a legend in the world of local entertainment.

The music is designed to transport the audience to another world, a nostalgia trip to a time when singers were truly stars, larger than life, on and off the stage. Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Engelbert Humperdinck, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Abba and in recent times following in their footsteps the likes of Robbie Williams who sold out the Royal Albert Hall with his "Swing" concert & Michael Buble to name a few.

Performing the music made famous by these names are musicians who are legends to Sri Lankan audiences - The powerful voice of Noeline Honter, the inimitable Maxi Rosairo, Sohan Weerasinghe affectionately known as the Godfather of the local western music scene, the smooth tones of Damien, the velvet voice of Ricky Bahar, the vibrant energy of Rajitha better known as Mr. Misty, the rich husky renditions of Umara Sinhawansa, the power packed performance of Monique, the amazing vocal range of Kevin Almeida are some of the performers at "Legends".

Musically the show is directed by Shobi Perera, with the musical backing of the X-Periments joined by Mano of Wildfire fame on sax, Gayan from Heat on trumpet and Razmah Lye from Phase 3 on percussion.

The 50 strong Canto Perpetua Choir adds their voices to complete this star studded evening. "Legends in Concert" is schedule to begin tonight at 7.15 and end at 9.00 after which guests can enjoy a candle lit dinner on the Water's Edge Starlight Terrace.
