Funday Times - A Poem for the week

Future without trees
By Senuri Weerasekara (12+ years), Musaeus College

Huge buildings everywhere,
Cars flying all over the sky,
But a tree I can see nowhere,
Various robots passing by.

There were neither trees nor plants,
We people have destroyed them all.
We all are now like guilty ants,
Is this the dark hole we all have to fall?

Elders will tell the wonders of the trees,
That made beautiful things named flowers,
Which were loved by some creatures called bees.
Now there are no flowers but tall towers.

Mother Nature will be heart broken,
Have the trees been neglected?
Where are the promises we've all spoken?
Is this the future we all have expected?
