A long term relationship begins

The University of Wolverhampton in the UK and Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) have agreed to enter into a relationship to offer joint education programmes in Sri Lanka.

A Memorandum of Understanding, was signed on the 25th November at the CINEC campus in Malabe will articulate the progression routes offered to CINEC students who have completed two years of an approved engineering programme in Sri Lanka the chance to continue their studies at the University of Wolverhampton in the UK to full BEng Degrees in either Mechatronics or Electronics and Communications Engineering.

This Memorandum is only the first stage of a planned long term relationship that will include development of joint research projects, teacher and student exchange programmes and the development of two BEng Degrees for delivery in full in Sri Lanka in the Spring of 2009. These Degrees will be in Mechatronics and Electronics and Communications Engineering and will be delivered using both CINEC and University of Wolverhampton Academics.

The University of Wolverhampton is very excited by these developments and looks forward to working in collaboration with staff and students of Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College.
