Week of Vlaminck’s works

The Alliance française de Kandy is organizing its annual Art Week from October 24 to November 3 to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of French artist Maurice de Vlaminck (1876-1958). An exhibition will display reproductions of his main works belonging to the Fauvism period.

The opening ceremony of the Art Week will be held on the 24th at 6.30 p.m. when Michel Lummaux, Ambassador for France in Sri Lanka and Maldives declares open the Art Week.

A group of students will be selected for an art workshop on October 25 and 26. An exhibition of the works done by the students will be on display from October 29, with the exhibition opening at 6 p.m.
