Funday Times - A Poem for the week

My kitten
By Danielle Perera (9 years), Stafford International School

I've been waiting for a
kitten for a very long time,
I finally got one that's mine, all mine.
His name is JD and he's orange and white,
He's extremely playful and pretends to bite.
He's afraid of my goldfish and of his reflection,
But he's still a baby and I think he's perfection.
He loves to have company and hates being alone,
He plays with my hair when I'm on the phone.
He has toys of his own but sometimes he sits,
On my lap while I pet him and love him to bits.
He enjoys the attention and loves all the cuddles,
When it recently rained, he splashed in the puddles.
He chases his shadow and goes for drives in the car,
I love him so much,
he's my shining star.
