‘Traffic jam’ at The Sunday Times Biz Club

The headline may be misleading but the issues are bound to cover the traffic jams and congestion in the city when the next meeting of The Sunday Times Business Club discusses the whole gamut of traffic and transportation in the city of Colombo.

The speaker for the month is Prof. Amal Kumarage, Chairman of the National Transport Commission of Sri Lanka who will make a presentation on “Traffic and Transport Plans for Colombo.” Kumarage has pioneered the setting up of the M.Sc. in Transport Planning and M.Eng. in Highway and Traffic Engineering and the MBA in Infrastructure Planning, at the University of Moratuwa and is also known for his pioneering efforts in developing traffic signal systems and is a joint developer of the patented Uniroad Signal system widely used across the country.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22 at 6 pm at the Cinnamon Grand, the host hotel.
