Power deal with India ...
Amidst soaring electricity rates, the Government is giving priority to the proposed multi-million dollar mega undersea power transmission line with India. Power and Energy Minister John Seneviratne said yesterday he or a senior official from his ministry would lead a delegation to India for this purpose. A preliminary feasibility report has already been completed.
 
LTTE attack destroys navy craft...
Ten Navy personnel were reported missing yesterday morning after one of the Navy’s Fast Attack Craft (FAC) was caught in what is believed to be an LTTE sea mine explosion off Nayaru, Mullaitivu, a Navy spokesman said. He said six sailors were rescued and a search operation was going on for the missing sailors.

Starting over A period of cruel rule
See, I don't work full time. In fact, I rarely come into office. During the time in which I'm not writing, I'm either walking around taking photos, browsing the wonders of the internet (All hail Wikipedia and YouTube!) or picking fights with people.
The reign of King Parakrama Pandya lasted for three years from 1212 – 1215 A.D. He was the last accepted ruler of the Polonnaruwa period. Although he came to power after an invasion, he never crushed his subjects. But by this time, there were signs of the decline of the kingdom.
