Sihinayak Wage; a fairytale in mini screen

Sihinayak Wage', a fairytale about a child who undergoes a severe difficulty to protect a little fairythat has lost its way, will be telecast every Monday at 9.30 pm on Rupavahini, starting from March 31. Script, screenplay and direction by Chandana Hewapathirana, Sihinayak Wage is produced by Dhammika Siriwardena.

Mervyn lives by singing in the bus stands and near cinema halls. His wife is Samitha and they have a daughter Himali who is waiting for her university entrance. They live in a massive old house belonging to a rich Mudalali and they have to look after and maintain the house and the property. Hemantha, a cobbler is Mervyn's best friend.

One night Himali comes across a fairy that has lost its way. The small built creature, six inches in height and with the ability to sing, dance and fly, wants to get back to her mother in the fairy world. Himali determines to keep the secret and protect the fairy until its mother comes to take her back. But at one stage Himali could not help herself revealing her secret to her parents, Mervyn and Samitha. However they too get interested in the fairy and promise to maintain the secret. But Mervin comes across severe financial difficulties and had to vacate the house. Because of his profession, singing on the road nobody is willing to rent him a house. Unable to find a place Mervin thinks of a way to get a big amount of money by selling the fairy to a rich country. Himali is against this and she runs away from her home with the fairy.

In order to protect the fairy Himali has to undergo various difficulties. She goes on living in different houses and for this she has to fabricate many different stories. She lives in small thatches in villages and mansions until she meets a teacher and who is willing give her shelter. From here Himali ends her journey.

Stellar cast in 'Sihinayak Wage' include Richard Manamudali, Hashanika Karaliyadda, Wathsala Diyalagoda, Duleeka Marapana, Kumara Thirimadura, Jayani Senanayake, Giriraj Kaushalya, Pumi Shanika, Sarath Kothalawala, Hemanth Iriyagama, Sahani Shamara and Tharindu Fonseka.

Camera by Sanjeewa Kumara, makeup by Priyantha Ishawara, art directed by Sumathi Kudaligama and edited by Udaya Samaratunga. Lyrics written by Bandula Nanayakkarawasam and music directed by Kapila Pugalaarachchi, background songs are sung by Nelu Adhikari and Kapila Pugalarachchi himself.
