Business Superbrand status for Printcare
Printcare, probably the world’s single largest supplier of customised tea tags and tea envelopes for the tea bag industry, was recently awarded Business Superbrand status by Superbrands Lanka. The company which is listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, together with its subsidiaries, is the country’s single largest packaging, publishing and high end printer.
A Superbrands Lanka statement said the Superbrands programme, which currently operates in over 55 countries acknowledges a variety of categories of brands. The latest programme being rolled out in Sri Lanka, recognizes those products and services which are directly marketed to other businesses through Business Superbrand.
Printcare products are being used in over 40 countries. Amongst its major customers are top pre packaged tea companies in the world – Lipton, Twining, Tetley (owned by the Tata group), and Dilmah. Printcare is also the main supplier to a host of other brands like Rabea, Ahmed, Ronnefeldt, Beta, El Aroza, Typhoo, Clipper and many more.
Printcare’s packaging expertise goes well beyond the global tea industry. The statement said Printcare is a major supplier to the apparel industry, supplying it with a large part of its packaging requirements. It provides reputed brands such as Marks & Spencer, Hanes, Smart Wool, Debenhams, BHS, GAP, and Next with their packaging including Tags and Labels for garments as well as cold peel or heat transfers. It is also a major supplier to the local Tobacco industry.
