OpenArc schols with Education Ministry support

OpenArc Systems Management software development company and the OpenArc School of Business and Technology have introduced a degree level scholarship programme for IT to mark its 15th anniversary.

An MoU was signed between OpenArc and the Education Ministry recently to select talented students in IT among those who passed the AL examination but were not eligible to enter the universities for higher education.

Daya Hettiarachchi, Chairman, OpenArc Systems Management said the whole objective of this scholarship programme is to create practically trained engineers to meet the global demand for such qualified software locally and internationally in the software field.

He said this is not only a course of study for gaining knowledge, but an educational programme.

The management will select 50 students for a full time, 6-month practical training programme at the OpenArc School of Business and Technology and once the course period is over, they will be offered the opportunity to join as trainees at the OpenArc Systems Management which is the commercial software development company. They will be following the BIT degree of Colombo, at the OpenArc School of Business and Technology on part time basis for a period of three years, free of charge.

Applications for enrolments must be forwarded before December 31 every year for this programme that is scheduled to begin in the month of February.
