Ane is it true that another very senior cricketer mooted the idea to omit the long standing left arm medium pacer Chaminda Vaas from the national team who was to play his hundredth Test match in Hobart. At the same time some senior members of the cricket’s governing body are also not too happy with this omission. We also overheard another former Sri Lanka lamenting “It’s not about his hundredth Test. But, it’s all about the variety that he adds to the Lankan attack. Now I don’t get involved in selection matters, but, I don’t think that they would be mug enough to drop him.”

How come that the local media was not given the media kit for the commonwealth games meeting that was held in Colombo. They say only a few foreign journalists from some magazines were provided with this facility.

Sudden cancellation
After the organizers had prepared everything and were about to release the details about the President’s cycle tour. They received orders to hold it back. They wonder if it was the latest political development in the country that prompted this cancellation.
