IFS Sri Lanka steal the show at Quality Software Awards

Two Students groups employed at IFS Sri Lanka, were chosen as gold and silver winners in the students category at the National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA).The awards are an annual competition organised by the British Computer Society Sri Lanka (BCSSL) since 1998.

The IFS student scholarship programme, one of the best in the sector of ICT invites applications from potential student following higher studies in this sector which goes through a short listing process from which candidates are selected for the scholarship. The motive behind the execution of this programme has been the realization of IFS Sri Lanka to educate whilst provide hands on practice to students in this field in order to bridge the gap of talented and experienced professionals in the sector. Under the IFS Student Scholarship programme the students are employed as trainees for a period of four years till the completion of their Degree programme and there after taken in as permanent employees as per there area of expertise.

The focal point for NBQSA is to showcase and benchmark Sri Lankan ICT products, which fulfils a much needed requirement of the software industry in this highly competitive globalised economic structure.

The objectives of the NBQSA competition are to provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals and organization in Sri Lanka who/which have contributed to the development of ICT, to create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products and to improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services to be able to compete in the international marketplace.
