CCC School of Cricket on top

Three teams from the CCC School of Cricket dominated the third annual under 14 cricket tournament played for the Nelson Mendis Trophy with their ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams winning without much effort yesterday.

Cambridge Academy from Anuradhapura gave a heart-warming performance against Lyceum School. The Anuradhapura Academy made 147 for 8 with L. Sirimal top scoring with 39. The experienced Lyceum outfit scored the required runs for the win for the loss of only one wicket with M. Ratnaweera top scoring with 69.

At the Railway Grounds CCC ‘B’ beat Wadduwa Cricket School by 5 wkts, Mutwal beat Vidura College by 8 wickets.At the D.S. Senanayake Grounds Bharatha School beat Joe Saverimuthupulle School.At the Thurstan Grounds CCC ‘A’ beat Devas Cricket Academy by 7 wkts; Brendon Academy beat MCA Academy by 32 runs; Lyceum beat Cambridge by 9 wkts.At Jayawardenapura CCC ‘C’ beat Greenfield by 5 wkts.
