Chess Centre for Tsunami Children

Mikhail Ustinov, Director of the Russian centre is handing over a cheque to Pereliye Wimala Thera (BA) the Chief Incumbant De Soyaramaya of Pereliye Paduma Gabbaramaya Siriniwasa Maha Pirivena.

As soon as tsunami disaster, Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya, President of the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club actively arranged a simultaneous chess program with the help of Indian Chess Grand Masters and collected Rs. 300,000/= to built a chess centre in Southern Province to help the chess players in that area. Anatoly Karpov Chess Club was anxiously waiting to get a land to built this centre for the last two years period and fortunately Mrs. Wijesuriya met Pereliye Wimala Thera who agreed to give the land and also to help to built this chess centre at Pereliya Paduma Gabbaramaya temple.

According to the chief Incumbent, Wimala Thera The AKCC will get the opportunity to open this chess centre in early January.
