Lanka finish seventh at ARFT tourney

In a spirited second half comeback saw Sri Lanka defeat a Singapore youth team who had 11 expatriates playing for them. At the final whistle the score read Sri Lanka 34 - Singapore 23. At short whistle Sri Lanka were trailing by 12 points to 20. Thus Sri Lanka were ranked out of the 12 teams that participated. The Cup was won by Japan, while powerhouse Korea finished in a disappointing 5th position. Lanka’s D. Nimal had the honour of blowing the final.

Scores of the matches played on final day are as follows; Arabian Gulf 10 – Philippine 21. Brunei 00- Guam 66. Singapore 23 - Sri Lanka 34. Thailand 13 - Korea 38. Malaysia 03 - Hong Kong 39. Japan 64 -Chinese Taipei 03 The Lankan team will return later today.
