Ahmed sparkles at the RCGC

Debug Computers Peripheral returned to the Royal Colombo to sponsor another successful Golf competition last Saturday, to coincide with the December stroke play contest.

Ahamed sparkles

The ‘A’ Division Classic was hotly contested with all the big guns battling for supremacy. Hefty, broad, smiling Arshad Ahamed came back with a sparkling par round of 71 nett 66 to register not only the lowest nett score but also qualify to embrace the ‘A’ Classic handsome Debug Trophy. Young Sanjay Wettimuny struck a praiseworthy nett 68. Others who had commendable rounds were Mohan Ratnayake 69, Zhuang Lizhou 70 and Mithun Perera 71. Sarath Wickremaratne and L. F. de Mel played hell merrily.

‘B’ Division
This Division was a complete pack of messy golf with not one single player breaking par level.
Eventually Radesh Daluwatte came good with nett 73 and a better back nine to win beating Roschen Perera on the same score. There were a dozen blistering centurions with 3 making X’mas decorations with their cards.

‘C’ Division
Suneth Wijesinghe won his first contest at the Ridgeways, and had the right to be delighted with his success. He is enthusiastic and there is promise that he could be a good prospect. Y.T.Han came behind with the same score.

Unbelievably there were near 40 centurions, with the sparklers coming from the disobeying clubs of Dian Jayasuriya, Ken de Alwis, Rex Hatherley, Prasanna Goonetilleke, Padmasiri Dias and Eraj Guneratne to name a few wreckers. The regular confetti duo, Rahula Seneviratne and Ajantha Mylvaganam, made colourful packs.

Seniors & Masters
Joe Perera won with nett 74 with A.E.Z. Fernando coming behind with 79. Hefty Doc. N. Wijemanne, measuredly strolled to an enterprising nett 70, to win the Masters with Neil Chanmugam behind him with 72.
