Pacie Maduwantha sends Chilaw Marians reeling

Tamil Union right arm pacie Munditha Maduwantha sent the Chilaw Marians, who are chasing a victory target of 221 reeling to 41 for 9 at the end of the second day’s play in their Sirasa Premier League cricket encounter played at the P. Sara Stadium.

The three day match saw both the teams having an equal chance of recording an outright win but now the home team is in the box seat with the Marians needing another 180 from the only wicket left to achieve a win which is beyond their reach.

SSC’s Tharanga Paranavithana slammed a career best 174 inclusive of 24 boundaries which is also the highest score of the ongoing Sirasa Premier League cricket tournament helping his side to end their innings on 360 against BRC played at the SSC grounds.
BRC in their turn helped by half tons from Dilshan Vitharana and Varuna Waragoda made a bold reply of 260 for 6 when play ended on day two.
