Mahela, Sanga and Upul as Coke ambassadors

Coca-Cola has taken on board Sri Lanka’s top cricketers – Mahela Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakkara and Upul Tharanga as its brand ambassadors. This strategic partnership goes beyond the conventional brand ambassadorship and the initiative by Coke will see the cricketers play an active role, in taking cricket development in Sri Lanka, especially in the rural areas, to a new level.
Speaking on the novel initiative, Country Marketing Manager Lakshman Peiris said in a statement that, “The alliance is part of Coca-Cola’s strategy to strengthen and support the development of cricket at all levels. We will be launching a number of initiatives towards achieving this goal starting today.”

Basil Gadzios, the Country Manager of Coca-Cola Sri Lanka said, “Cricket is the most popular sport in our country and we know that Sri Lanka is truly gifted in terms of young cricketing talent. Mahela, Kumar and Upul will help us in taking the initiatives we have put in place to develop this pool of talent.”
