By Nadia Fazlulhaq

Fashion lovers are in for a treat as the Alliance Française de Colombo along with the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and Maldives and the French company Schneider Electric present the 'Paris-Colombo Fashion Week' for the first time in Sri Lanka from December 6-10.

An exhibition which promotes latest fashion trends, a fashion show from Sri Lankan and French designers, an open conference and finally a party featuring a French DJ are all on the cards as the week unfolds.

The "Traits tres mode" exhibition will be on at Crescat Boulevard from December 6-10 with 60 artworks of 15 top French fashion illustrators depicting the latest trends in the French fashion industry on display.

Exhibiting their latest collections will be Azaanya, Buddhi Batiks, ODEL, Hameedia, Fusion, Gabbana, L.I.F.T, Entrance, Berengere Brooks, Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology and Studio Bercot from Paris.

The latest trends in European fashion will be the subject of a discussion led by a French designer on December 8 at 3 p.m. at the Alliance Francaise where Lankan fashion lovers and designers can share ideas with French designer Marie Rucki and Daniel Fumaz, consultant of the renowned French fashion design school "Studio Bercot".

Entrance is free of charge for this conference.
