Accessibility for disability

The year 2007 will be declared the “Year of Accessibility”, enabling the disabled population to access public buildings, common places and services.

This decision was approved by the Cabinet on memorandum submitted by Social Service and Social Welfare Minister Douglas Devananda.

Necessary funds from the budget were allocated to make the accessibility rights a reality for the rapidly increasing disabled population in the country.
