Amana lists on the CSE

The ordinary shares of Amana Takaful Ltd were listed on the Second Board of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) this week.

Incorporated in late 1998, Amana Takaful Ltd (ATL) commenced operations in June 1999. The company is the provider of Takaful services, which is commonly perceived as the Islamic alternative to conventional insurance.

The company was listed on the CSE by way of an Introduction, where there is no requirement of a public issue. A company is entitled to be admitted to the official list of the CSE through an introduction where the company has 10% of its equity held by the public, according to a CSE statement.
