Dialog’s mobile etiquette campaign

Dialog Telekom is launching Sri Lanka’s first ever mobile etiquette and safety campaign, entitled - ‘Be Mobile Wise’.

As the campaign’s name suggests, the idea behind the initiative is to inform and educate all mobile users on the polite and safe way to use a mobile phone. Nushad Perera, General Manager Sales and Marketing, Dialog Telekom said, “ ‘Be Mobile Wise’ is on the one hand, the result of Dialog Telekom doing its duty as a responsible corporate, and on the other, is a sincere desire to see people use their phones with consideration for others and care for themselves. This campaign is for all mobile users no matter what network they patronize.”

While addressing issues such as selecting the ‘silent mode’ as a sign of politeness and respect at weddings, funerals, theatre productions and at cinemas, and phone locking to avoid unnecessary automatic dialing, the campaign is also unique in that it gives the public the option of emailing Dialog Telekom at bemobilewise@dialog.lk with their comments, suggestions and feedback .

about the situations featured within the campaign, the telecom company said in a media statement.

Many people have written offering advice on other scenarios that should appear within the campaign. “It’s heartening to note the interest people have taken in this campaign,” says Perera.
