The event was attended by the top sales management of Aviva, India and Eagle, Sri Lanka. “In one of the knowledge sharing forums the Aviva delegates were introduced to Eagle’s Agency Distribution System which is considered world-class,” it said.

This event will be an annual one and will be instrumental in knowledge enhancement for both parties. The next programme is scheduled to be held in India. At the opening ceremony, Eagle Managing Director Deepal Sooriyaarachchi in his welcome speech said that, “This is one of the many ways in which Aviva as a group will leverage on local expertise.”

The objective of the programme was to share best practices, methodology and services used in the area of Life distribution and to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of both parties. Among the topics under discussion were “how to increase sales distribution effectiveness” and “HR talent management”.

Aviva and Eagle also did an in-depth study of challenges faced, obstacles overcome and experiences in different contexts and aspects of sales distribution. Key learnings from past experiences were analyzed and the way forward was discussed in an open forum.

Eagle is now an Aviva company. Aviva is the world’s oldest insurance group, with a history dating back 300 years to 1696.
