Just another day at Apollo!

Despite the uncertainties surrounding Apollo Hospital, a stroll around the place by reporters from The Sunday Times FT found the staff going about their day to day duties without much concern for what might happen. There have been persistent rumours of changes across the board pertaining to management and staff but one would have to wait and see if they materialize.

The BOI says it will stand by its decision to withdraw concessions if there is a change in the ownership. “We are standing by as stated earlier; we will have to examine all the details. Depending on that we will make our decision,” said BOI Chairman Prof. Lakshman Watawala.

A Colombo Stock Exchange spokesperson told The Sunday Times FT the CSE is awaiting a clarification from the BOI after the hospital company wrote to the CSE saying the BOI agreement was between the BOI and a company, not a set of individuals. Will the Indian expatriates working at the hospital leave? Will there be name changes? Many questions still remain unanswered but so far from just walking around the premises, nothing seems out of the ordinary. The hospital is still buzzing with people and rooms are full.
