‘Ruk Ocean View’: New dining experience in Moratuwa

Restaurants come up like mushrooms nowadays. Especially the Chinese joins are at almost every street corner and this goes with every city, town and village.

Moratuwa, the pioneering City, with the touch of music, cricket and of course furniture has recently ended the search for a good place to dine.

‘Ruk Ocean View’ restaurant in Moratuwa is a filling a long felt need in the city.

Located in new Galle Road at Egoda Uyana, Ruk is a family restaurant, caters to the needs and wants of the clientele of top diners.

'This is my dream come true. I always wanted to start a family restaurant in Moratuwa, since we do not have any fine dining restaurants in Moratuwa; I think 'Ruk Ocean View' manages fill the vacuum' said Sunil Dharmaratne, the proprietor of the place.

It comprises big main restaurant are, two private dining rooms with separate entrance and verandah area.

The restaurant can accommodate up to 200 pax.

'Western, Chinese and Eastern cuisine are our specialties and we are geared to cater to fine ding guests' said Upali Liyanage, the manager of the restaurant.

‘Ruk Ocean View’, which started its operation just three months ago, is already a popular place for small seminars and conferences.

'We hosted a couple of conferences of Lions Club and Rotary. We are fully equipped to handle this type of conferences seminars and workshops' he said.

'Authentic Szechuan style Chinese dishes, seafood specialties, bar-b-que items, hot and cold dishes are some of the favourites of the place' he added.

Apart from fine dining, the restaurant is a popular place for lunch too.

'Our executive lunch is quite popular among the Companies in and around Moratuwa. Also people, travelling to south stop here for lunch.' Upali said.

The restaurant is a major attraction during the weekends. Live music and twice a month DJ music for dancing (for special functions), makes this place cut above the rest.

'Since lately, we promote takeaway, during lunch and dinner. This is really picking up and we want introduce road side BBQ for dinner' he said.
