Multi talented Samanthi

Janitha Samanthi is the cover girl this week. Samanthi is an up coming talented actress and a entrepreneur.

She has acted in several teledramas and her latest venture is ‘Makara Dadayama’, which is on Sirasa TV on Sundays. After playing in supporting roles, Samanthi pushed her way into the mainstream roles. With the results of that, she got into a stellar cast of two new teledramas. ‘Makara Dadayama’ and Sumith Rohana Thiththwelgoda’s ‘Sapiriwara’.

She has acted in a teledramas under the direction of Lalith Pushpakumara, Tissa Wijekoon and Titus Ranasinghe. ‘Sasaraka Ima’, ‘Naththal Thegga’ and ‘Raththran Neth’ are some of the popular teledramas she has acted in. 'Kota Uda Mandira' directed by Sunendra Kithulgoda was another teledrama telecast recently.

‘Holmankada Mayawa’ and ‘Kammiththa’ directed by Piyal Yatawara are two of the completed teledramas scheduled for release in late 2006.

Samanthi is a professional beautician and a hair dresser too, She runs her own salon in Kelaniya, while designing clothes for brides and for the fashion models. She learned her basics under veteran beautician Thirani Peiris and obtained a special diploma in beauty culture. She has also acted in many song visuals and appeared in several commercials.

‘I am more keen on improving my acting. Apart from my career as beautician and a hair dresser, I concentrate on my talent as an actress and I want to reach the top in that field’ she said.
