Television viewers will be treated to many scenic and historic locations such as 'Saradiel's seat' off Colombo-Kandy Road at Kegalle and its environs, Kalthota in Balangoda and others as the series unfolds. It is based on historical facts and was filmed at locations where Saradiel was born and bred, making the story more believable and interesting.

‘Sri Lankan history and culture has gone through many cataclysmic phases under foreign rule’ said Director Sudath Rohana. ‘Our objective is to give an insight into one historical period in Sri Lanka by bringing to life the character of Saradiel’ he added.

The teledrama is sponsored by Swadeshi Industrial Works Ltd., Sri Lanka's pioneer herbal-based personal care manufacturer and owner of the popular brands Khomba, Khomba Baby, Rani Sandalwood and Rani White Sandal.

Swaseshi has previously sponsored 'Bopath Sakkiya' a teledrama by Sathischandra Edirisinghe, 'Ambu Daruwo' by Sudath Rohana and the popular 'Diyaketa Pahana' by Asoka Handagama.
