Umpires and scorers in Cricket Sevens

For the first time in the history of the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers of Sri Lanka, a seven-a-side cricket tournament has been organised for its members on the initiative of the Gampaha Branch.

The tournament will be played on September 10 at the Prison Ground at Mahara. Organiser of the tournament L. H. Sunil said the event will be a treat for the forgotten men of the cricket field.

More than 10 teams are will contest the championship and many trophies and prizes are on offer for teams and individual players who excel. The tournament will be launched with a colourful opening ceremony at 9.a.m. with live bands also in attendance.
