Hingurana Sugar Factory going to Browns?

Hingurana Sugar Factory, which was to be put up for sale in the stock market on a cabinet decision, has suddenly been offered to the Browns Group together with Lanka Orix Leasing Company (LOLC) and the deal, will be handled by the Board of Investment (BOI), according to market analysts.

“The two companies have come together in a joint venture to buy the factory and they have been given approval by the BOI,” a top Investment Promotion Ministry official told The Sunday Times FT.

Ishara Nanayakkara CEO, LOLC said no agreement has been finalised as yet.
