Central Finance appoints new Chairman

S. V. Wanigasekera, a veteran director of Central Finance Co, has been appointed chairman of the company’s board of directors on August 24 following the retirement of founder-chairman Chandra Wijenaike who has been designated President. Wanigasekera has served on the Board of Central Finance Co. Ltd. since 1983, and prior to this was the first Sri Lankan Chairman/CEO of Ceylon Tobacco Co. Ltd. He is presently on the directorate of several Group and public companies.

At the AGM of the company held on August 24 and at the request of shareholders, it was suggested that Wijenaike should continue his association with the company he founded and guided to its present position, the Board agreed that the founder chairman should continue in an honorary capacity as designated ‘President’.
