I am a coconut tree

I am a coconut tree
And am happy and free
Little children see me
and say, "how tall is this tree"

Little birds perch on me
And sing songs you see
The squirrel, the monkey and bee
Join and sing Hee! Hee!

The fascinating Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is one of the most famous buildings in the world. It is situated in North India near Agra and New Delhi. Emperor Shah Jahan, spent most of his time supervising the work of this magnificent tomb. The tomb was built in memory of Shah Jahan's most beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a heavenly paradise and it still attracts many visitors. One can experience a splendid sun-set from the banks of the Yamuna River, which is not far from the Taj Mahal. The main building of the Taj Mahal is surrounded by a vast area of greenery. Most visitors visit the Taj Mahal to spend a relaxing time, walking through the cool breeze which blows across the area. I am sure that most people dream about a visit to the Taj Mahal some day in their life time.

A rainy day

On a rainy day the sky is dark. When it is raining the wind blows fast. We see lightening and hear thunder. The trees fall and small houses break. The birds fly to their nests. Other animals run to their homes. Water flows down the roads with mud. The vehicles go slowly, splashing the water. I love to go with my father in the car, when it is raining heavily. The wipers start working. We move in muddy water. When heavy rain is over, people go about with umbrellas. I like to float paper boats in muddy water with my brother. After we get wet in the rain, we have a bath. We can enjoy ourselves on a rainy day.

Why polar animals don't need snow shoes

Humans and most animals cannot walk on snow without sinking in. But polar animals seem able to do so without any problems. They don't have to wear special shoes like humans do. So many wonder how they are given this rare opportunity. The answer is their feet, which act like snow shoes. The feet of many Arctic animals are broad, compared to those living in warmer regions. The broad base of the foot, helps to spread the animals weight over a wide area, so their feet do not sink into the snow.

Poem Of The Week

Green

Green what a wonderful colour
Trees what a brilliant image
Nature - a pleasant soft breeze
Environment at its best stage

Look around you - the modernized world
Skyscrapers, instead of tall trees
Carpet roads, instead of grass blades
The green brilliance had blown with the breeze

Inhaling exhaust fumes and dust
Have we forgotten the flower's fragrance?
Listening to hip-hop, rock music
The winds melody is unheard from a distance

'Saving Nature,' a wonderful concept
Let us not condemn a tree
Take a step against Global Warming
Be a 'Greeny' along with me!
