Counterfeit garments seized by Police

The Kahatuduwa Police, on a search warrant issued by the Kesbewa Magistrate, recently seized counterfeit garments of Polo by the Ralph Lauren label at a garments factory at Polagasowita.

This came on a private plaint filed by owners of this international label through their local lawyers Sudath Perera and associates against Mario Marcelline of MDM and Marcelline and Company of Polgasowita.

The counterfeit articles are now in police custody, the lawyers said adding that the case will be called on June 27. The complainant, the owner of the trade mark is The Polo Lauren Company LP of Madison Avenue New York.
