Help us too Puritas - RCGC

Your Sunday Times FT headlines last week said that Puritas (a subsidiary of Hayleys Ltd) is to build a sewage treatment plant for a new Maldivian resort.

This is well and good and all credit to Hayleys. Closer home, at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, two holes ie. the 10th and 12th scream for urgent sewage treatment. Over the years, the RCGC has merely toyed with this problem and Hayleys have always been a strong ally of the club.

Neil Brown, Lal Jayasundera and George Bobbiese former Chairmen of Hayleys were all stalwart supporters of the club. The Nurses Quarters and Castle St. Hospital nearby the 10th and 12th holes send their stinking effluence into RCGC waters-most unfair you will say-too true! The hospital authorities are now willing to lend a hand to solve this problem once and for all time.

It will be great if Puritas will work with the RCGC to rid the club of this long standing sore, RCGC will pay. They will not look for a gratis service –not by a long chalk.
