The Moratuwa Arts Forum(MAF) will hold their 12th annual General Meeting on Sunday, 18, June at 5.30 p.m. at the Sri Palee Hotel, Moratuwa.

The current President of the Forum is Brian Cooray and the MAF Secretary is popular singer Priya Peiris of Cock a-doodle fame. Ivan de Silva is the Treasurer of this society.

The Forum has executed many programms during the past year starting off with their well-known ‘Punsada Paaya’, variety programme featuring diversified artistes in their fold.
“Down Memory Lane” the popular sing- along concert coincided with the launching of MAF’s Golden Oldies CD, also titled “Down Memory Lane-Vol. 01”, which is presently doing brisk sales. Their final project last year was a career development programme on leadership and personality development which attracted over 150 senior students from 15 schools in the Moratuwa Education Circuit.

“With the new board of directors taking over, we will be concentrating on new artistic ideas and other socially responsible projects for the ensuing year’ Brain Cooray, the current President explained .

In the meanwhile musician Priya Peiris, the M.A.F. Secretary said, that he would be looking forward to the Tenth annual “Down Memory Lane” sing - along programme which he concepted way back in 1997.

The AGM proper will be held after the ceremonial opening which will be graced by a distinguished gathering of invitees.

The founder President of the Moratuwa Art Forum is Asoka Peiris, a veteran in the fields of films and teledramas.

Popular singer Lankika Perera of Golden Chimes fame, Thilak Perera and Nihal Fernando of NiRo, Sarath Gunawardana and current head Brian Cooray led the Forum after Asoka Peiris to the highest level
