Conference on securitization

A one-day conference entitled Securitisation: Unlocking Potential will be held tomorrow at the Colombo Hilton aimed at providing an insight into the regulatory, legal, tax and accounting issues relevant to the securitisation market in Sri Lanka.

It will also highlight how regulators, issuers, investment bankers and rating agencies as well as other intermediaries - such as lawyers and accountants - can work to unlock the potential of this market.

Jointly organised by Rating Agency Malaysia and Lanka Rating Agency Limited, this conference - targeted at CEOs, market practitioners, financial advisers, bankers, trustees, investors and regulators - will be opened by Channa de Silva, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka who will deliver a keynote address on Regulatory Developments in Securitisation in Sri Lanka.

International experts from Australia and Malaysia, besides local experts from the securitisation arena will be making presentations.

These specialists will share with domestic market participants their experience and expertise on how best to tap the potential in Sri Lanka.

In particular, Kerry Adby, a leading specialist in the field of securitisation, will be at hand to share her experience on the issues and challenges that lie ahead for the Sri Lankan securitisation market.

Adby has more than 15 years’ experience in securitisation, structuring and implementing transactions involving an extensive range of assets and instruments, not to mention hands-on knowledge of the Sri Lankan market.
