Computer graphic wiz to re-create ‘Madol Duwa’

Thilanka Perera, who cut his cinematic teeth through his innovative computer animations and shot into limelight at the tender age of 12, is busily engaged after 8 years, in pre-production work to translate the distinguished writer, Martin Wickramasinghe's novel ‘Madol Duwa’ into the silver screen.

To authentically transform the period backdrops in the 1930 decade including wide vistas such as the then Galle harbour and to recreate the island Madol Duwa to the screen exactly as the eminent author envisioned and set in the hearts and minds of the readers, latest Digital technology and effects, which are exclusively used in the Western cinema will be utilized.

Dr. Ranga Wickramasinghe and Mr. Wasantha Wickramasinghe signed on behalf of the Martin Wickramasinghe Trust, whereas Maheel R Perera represented the production company, Dreams and Magic Entertainments.
